The plot: The true story of a Vietnam War Veteran, Ron Kovic. Paralyzed after being shot by a sniper in the Vietnam war, Kovic (Cruise) returned to find that the soldiers who came home were not very well welcomed. Like many he felt betrayed by the country for which they had fought. Kovic then became an anti-war and pro-human rights political activist.
