1967 Swedish Police Valiants

Information provided by Sven Mårtensson, based on Roger Larsson's website:

Swedish Police Valiants used both 170 and 225 engines with Torqueflite automatic, and 16:1 steering ratio wich meant 3,6 turns from left to right.

Most cars in Sweden at the time were weak 4-cylinder cars , so the Valiants had no problem with the speed.

The cars were delivered from Chrysler without front seat and door panels, frontseats were taken from Saab Sport or Saab 99 and aluminium door panels made.

They also changed the electric system: 550 W alternator, a fusebox with 12 fuses, new head lamps (Marshall), new signal horns (Bosch), a lot of extra lamps. They used heavy duty torsion bars and extra leafs in rear suspension, adjustable front shocks, and disc brakes from 67 Barracuda.

The changes were made by ANA Nykoping in Sweden, who was agent for Chrysler.
